Event Summary Ensuring equality and diversity in your workforce is critical to good employer/employee relationships. It helps to avoid complaints, grievances and disputes and leads to higher retention and well-being of staff. It is also key to attracting high quality candidates.

This briefing is designed for school leaders and governors to raise awareness of key issues related to equality in employment and to provide practical advice on how to be an inclusive employer. It is designed to be a starting point for internal discussions/actions to address any potential areas of concern.
Event description
A one hour briefing for school leaders designed to:

• Raise awareness of why equality is important to a positive workforce;
• Look at the ways schools can monitor equality and diversity in recruitment and employment;
• Provide an overview of the Equality Act 2010 and the key workforce implications; and
• Provide some practical steps to improve equality and address inequality in employment.

This online course will be presented by HR professionals from the Education HR team using Microsoft Teams.
Additional information
Participants who are not currently HR Full Consultancy customers are welcome to attend our courses, although you should be aware that a charge of £35 will be applied.

Learning outcomes At the end of the briefing delegates will:

• Understand where inequality in employment may occur within the context of a school;
• Be aware of the key areas of the Equality Act 2010 and how the relevant provisions relate to recruitment and employment;
• Be aware of the concept of unconscious bias; and
• Have some practical ideas for areas they need to focus on/address within their school.
